Implosion of the Old Essex House Building in downtown Birmingham, AL

Concrete casing and structural steel building was closely surrounded on all sides by occupied premises. Underground utilities and ventilation facilities were attached to the building and had to be left intact. The building was imploded within the contracted time and budget, to the client’s satisfaction, and without any change orders. Zero damage to adjacent structures and utilities, no safety incidents.
